Advent Season – Hope Day Two

Psalms 103: 1-8

  1. Praise the Lord, O my soul, all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all of his benefits-3. Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. 7 He made known his ways to Moses, hus deeds ot the people of Isereal: 8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious slow to anger, abounding in love.

This passage of scripture is one of my favorites. It is packed full of goodness. It does a great job of defining characteristics of God. Once we gain an understanding of God’s character it helps us to realize our hope is not in our own doing, but in God and His good plans for our life. As you focus this Christmas season on the expectation and the arrival of the greatest Gift, Jesus and His birth, remember it is His hope on which we rely.
